To assess your level of proficiency before you start a Berlitz program, we conduct a general Berlitz language test – online, orally, or both. This lets us – and you – see which course is right for you.
Are you interested in testing your current level of proficiency independent of a Berlitz language course or preparing for an external language exam? We’ve got you covered here as well. The following options are available at Berlitz:
Language Tests
1. TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)
The TOEIC is the worldwide standard for English in the workplace and is used by more than 5,000 international companies as a hiring criterion and training standard. Many academic institutions also use this test as an entrance requirement or as a final certification. It consists of a listening section and a reading section.
2. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
The TOEFL uses American English and commonly serves as an entrance requirement for U.S. universities. The test comprises four sections: reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
3. LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
The LCCI language certificate provides an objective assessment of your business English skills. The test is valued by many employers because it includes authentic workplace scenarios, making it a business English certification that stands the test of real-world usage.
4. TELC (The European Language Certificates – die Europäischen Sprachenzertifikate)
The TELC examinations test your language skills in the areas of listening, reading, speaking, and writing, and for vocational training, university degree programs, and the workplace. TELC offers certification in a total of ten languages, including German.
5. TFI (Test de français international)
This examination is good for anyone wishing to test their French proficiency. The TFI examines your academic and workplace French skills. Used by international companies and universities, it evaluates listening and reading comprehension.
6. WiDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache in der Wirtschaft)
The WiDaF® tests German as a foreign language for business, covering all sectors of industry and workplace situations. As an internationally recognized language certificate, it boosts your chances on the job market.
